Timmons Group’s Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) team can offer high quality subsurface exploration during the design phase, and materials testing services during the construction phase for a wide range of projects.
During the field exploration phase, we can coordinate the exploration of subsurface soils with a variety of techniques, including traditional borings, cone penetration testing (CPT), rock coring, and others. Our Geotechnical staff are able to characterize surface conditions in order to measure properties of in-place subsurface materials and collect soils for laboratory testing.
During the analysis and reporting phase, we evaluate information from the field and laboratory work to develop geotechnical recommendations. Timmons Group’s recommendations include all aspects of earthwork operations (fill and cut), shallow or deep foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, dewatering considerations, and pavement section thicknesses
During the construction phase, Timmons Group can provide CMT in the form of soil compaction testing, concrete testing, masonry inspection, evaluation of footing bearing materials, pile installation observation, and others. Timmons Group can also perform special inspections to comply with International Building Code requirements.
Timmons Group also has an aerial drone in house to perform inspection services. Inspections by drone allow us to reach places that were nearly impossible before, enabling our teams to evaluate projects more efficiently, safely and in a cost efficient manner.
