Overview
The renovation of Miller Park Pool represents a transformational investment in one of Lynchburg’s most beloved recreational destinations. Working closely with the City of Lynchburg, Timmons Group led the project from master planning and community engagement through design and construction documentation, helping reimagine the aging facility as a modern, inclusive aquatic center for residents of all ages. Through an extensive public outreach process that included stakeholder meetings, community listening sessions, and multiple online surveys, the team gathered valuable input that shaped the vision and priorities for the project.
The resulting design balances competitive aquatic programming with family-focused recreation, featuring a new eight-lane competition pool, zero-entry recreation pool, dedicated toddler and children’s play areas, water slides, expanded shade structures, improved concessions, enhanced accessibility, and upgraded support facilities. The plan also preserves and celebrates the site’s important role in Lynchburg’s history while creating a vibrant community gathering place for future generations.
Once complete, the revitalized Miller Park Pool will provide a premier aquatic destination that supports recreation, wellness, and community connection while serving as a lasting asset for the City of Lynchburg.
