Slover Memorial Library

Project Summary

Timmons Group took the lead as the civil engineer for the new addition to the Colonel Samuel L. Slover Main Library located in Norfolk.  The new library addition will connect to the Seaboard Building, an old Postal Facility built in 1897 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The new addition includes a glass atrium, 60,000 square feet of space for meeting rooms and technology center, and is LEED-certified.

Timmons Group provided site civil engineering services for the library, which included conceptual plan development deprived from survey and evaluation of existing site conditions; schematic design of existing condition topographic and boundary survey; participation in LEED guidance and scorecard evaluation; and the design development of erosion and sediment control, site layout, utilities, grading and drainage.
