Overview

Timmons Group was the civil engineer for the addition to the Colonel Samuel L. Slover Main Library located in Norfolk, Virginia. The addition connects the original standing library to the Seaboard Building, an old Postal Facility built in 1897 that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The LEED-certified library addition includes a glass atrium, 60K square feet of meeting room space, and a technology center.

Timmons Group provided site civil engineering services for the library which included conceptual plan development derived from survey and evaluation of existing site conditions; schematic design of existing condition topographic and boundary survey; participation in LEED guidance and scorecard evaluation; and the design development of erosion and sediment control, site layout, utilities, grading and drainage.
