At Timmons Group, environmental stewardship is not a trend — it’s a commitment. Our environmental stewardship begins at home with our everyday corporate operations, and is exemplified in our expert application of sustainable design principles. We understand all design decisions must consider potential impacts to our communities and we delight in helping our clients make informed decisions to minimize the impacts of development.
An active member of the U.S. Green Building Council since 2000, Timmons Group’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professionals have been involved with more than 50 LEED certified and LEED registered projects, including the first LEED Gold certified elementary school and the first LEED certified federal prison.
Timmons Group is also designated as an Envision Qualified Company through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI). Envision is a rating system that is designed specifically for evaluating infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, landfills, water and wastewater systems, energy generation and distribution, transit and other civil infrastructure – from project concept to operation. Envision’s rating criteria includes credits for use of renewables, resource efficiency and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Envision provides a shared framework for sustainable infrastructure projects. Its flexible program allows it to function independently or alongside other sustainability programs such as USGBC’s LEED building rating system. Timmons Group works extensively on a variety of infrastructure projects, such as transportation, stormwater and water/wastewater that are designed to improve everyday life. These projects incorporate services from infrastructure planning and feasibility studies to engineering design and permitting.
