Q&A

Where are you from? While I was born outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I grew up in Roanoke, Virginia where I lived until moving to Midlothian after graduation from college. I still return regularly to Roanoke to visit my parents who continue to reside there.

What is a favorite Timmons Group project you have worked on? I am probably most proud of my teams’ work on guardrail-related projects over the past 10 years. Leading VDOT’s transition to MASH standards was a fast-paced, intense effort requiring long hours and many meetings with VDOT staff to solve problems. In terms of traditional roadway projects, I am most proud of the RIC Airport East Side Roadway (2013-2015) project or the Robious Road widening project from 2016-2020.

What’s your favorite meal or restaurant? It’s hard to beat Mellow Mushroom. It holds a special place in my heart thanks to the Charlottesville “corner” location, and now I enjoy the one nearby in Midlothian.

What’s something about you that many people don’t know? My wife and I lead quarterly marriage preparation retreats on behalf of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. We are thrilled to share our faith with those who seek it as a central part of their marriage.

What’s your dream vacation destination? Ireland! I hold dual citizenship in Ireland and the USA; I have been fortunate enough to visit Ireland many times and have quite a bit of family throughout the country. I can’t wait to get back again soon!
