Welch, Brian 2023 - 1000 x 1000

Brian is a Transportation and Roadway Design Project Manager in our Raleigh Infrastructure department. With over a decade of experience, he excels in roadway, sidewalk, traffic signal design, and stormwater and drainage regulations. He provides the highest client management and design services by fostering relationships and focusing on the needs of his clients. Concentrating most of his time on state and local jobs, he is proficient in working one-on-one with municipal engineers to develop safe and cost-effective designs. Brian has completed projects ranging from multi-lane widenings, sidewalk and roundabout geometrics, to stormwater basin and network design. By working on private and public jobs, Brian has a high level of experience with both AutoDesk C3D and Bentley MicroStation CAD software.

Brian grew up in Richmond, VA.  Brian studied Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech while competing on the Div. 1 Cross Country and Track/Field Team.

Through his commitment to his studies and athletics, Brian grew his ability to manage multiple projects and compete at a high level that transitioned well into his professional career.

Brian currently lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife, Rebecca, and two sons. He enjoys following Virginia Tech sports, running, and pickleball. He loves spending time with his wife and two sons every minute he can get.
