Overview

The Environmental team at Timmons Group provides U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Environmental Review consulting services to support project approval and Release of Funds in accordance with 24 CFR Part 50 and Part 58.

Our team conducts HUD Environmental Reviews to document environmental compliance and identify mitigation strategies where necessary. In addition to evaluating potential impacts to the physical environment, we assess projects in the context of surrounding geographic and demographic conditions to ensure compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and HUD requirements.

We have prepared Environmental Provisions Checklists, Exemptions, Tiered Reviews, Categorical Exclusions, and Environmental Assessments for projects funded through a variety of HUD programs, including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), the National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF), Community Project Funding (CPF), and Project-Based Voucher (PBV) housing programs.

Our experience supports a wide range of initiatives, including new multi-family and single-family housing development, rehabilitation of existing housing, and improvements to community infrastructure and public facilities.

Timmons Group also assists clients pursuing grant-funded improvements such as park upgrades, school expansions, ADA accessibility improvements, water and wastewater infrastructure extensions, and flood mitigation projects.

Our environmental professionals are experienced users of the HUD Environmental Review Online System (HEROS) and understand the statutory and regulatory framework governing HUD-funded projects. We can also assist Responsible Entities with public noticing and final documentation required to secure grant or subsidy approval.
