Overview

The Hoopeston Wind project will help satisfy Illinois’ growing electricity demand with clean domestic energy, while diversifying Vermilion County’s economy and supporting the rural farm community. The Hoopeston Wind project is located approximately 20 miles north of Danville. The project includes 49 modern wind turbines, which are interspersed across active farmland west of Hwy 1 and east of Hwy 49, west of Rossville and southwest of Hoopeston. Apex Clean Energy engaged Timmons Group to provide land surveying and civil engineering design on the initial phase of construction for the Hoopeston Wind Farm Project. The first phase of the project focused on the preparation of a building pad and access road for the project switching station. Design services included site layout, grading plans, storm water management and temporary erosion control. Timmons Group also coordinated design requirements to meet Illinois and Vermillion County’s requirements. Final construction documents are being been implemented to construct the switching station pad. Timmons Group also prepared road use exhibits to include in agreements between Apex and Township Road Commissioner. The close proximity of Timmons Group office to the Apex office facilitated close quick coordination and project meetings. CAPACITY:98 MW HOMES POWERED: 30,000
