Overview
Bon Secours has been implementing several of these Ambulatory Care Centers throughout Virginia and the nation. The centers deliver many medical services on an outpatient basis in order to avoid admission to a hospital. The newest ambulatory care center in the metropolitan Richmond area, located on Patterson Avenue in Henrico County, has quite a bit of history to it. The renovated building which now houses the ambulatory care center was a Ukrop’s grocery store from 1975 to January 2006.
There is 30,000 square feet of medical office in the one-story outpatient care center. It is a welcome addition to a continually-expanding West End community. The facility will be a great resource for those who need medical attention but do not need to go to a busy campus like St. Mary’s or the Medical College of Virginia.
Timmons Group submitted an early demolition plan to Henrico County to fulfill Bon Secours’ wish to get this project built as soon as possible. Special attention was paid to coordination and sequencing during construction since there is an existing aquarium store connected to the renovated building that remained in operation during site work.
