Overview
Recipient of the 2026 GRACRE Community Impact Award, Lucks Field Community Center serves as the centerpiece of the 4.5-acre park in Richmond’s East End neighborhood. The 52,500 SF facility expands access to recreation, healthcare services, community programming, and municipal resources while creating a central gathering place for residents.
The site was designed to strengthen connectivity throughout the neighborhood through an extensive pedestrian network and the restoration of the area’s historic street grid. Improvements include EV charging stations, native landscaping, and integrated stormwater management features that support the long-term functionality of the site.
Anchored by the historic Luck’s Field baseball diamond, the surrounding park offers a variety of recreational amenities, including a basketball court, outdoor fitness equipment, playscapes, walking trails, and a rooftop basketball court overlooking the Richmond skyline. Together, the community center and park create opportunities for recreation, learning, wellness, and community engagement while supporting continued investment in Richmond’s East End.
