Overview
The new Feed More Headquarters and Distribution Center in Henrico County, Virginia was designed to help one of Central Virginia’s most impactful nonprofit organizations expand its mission of fighting hunger and serving communities across the region. As part of the project team, Timmons Group provided site development, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services to support the creation of the state-of-the-art 124,000-square-foot facility, which significantly increases warehouse, freezer, kitchen, volunteer, and collaboration capacity.
Beyond the operational needs of the campus, Timmons Group focused on creating a welcoming and mission-driven outdoor environment that serves employees, volunteers, donors, community partners, and visitors alike. The site design integrates attractive gathering spaces, pedestrian connections, landscaping, and outdoor amenity areas that provide opportunities for meetings, celebrations, volunteer appreciation events, and informal interaction. These spaces extend the organization’s culture of service beyond the building and create meaningful places for people to connect around Feed More’s mission.
Careful attention was given to balancing the complex logistical requirements of a major food distribution and warehouse facility with a strong sense of place and community. The resulting campus creates an efficient and highly functional operational hub while also providing welcoming spaces that celebrate the volunteers, donors, employees, and partners who make Feed More’s work possible. Through thoughtful site planning and landscape design, the project helps reinforce Feed More’s role as a regional leader in hunger relief and community support.
