Overview

The County of Henrico’s Department of Public Works contracted Timmons Group to provide performance monitoring of the Fairfield Woods Project which consisted of the relocation of a jurisdictional stream channel in an effort to alleviate flooding of several residences. During the permitting process it was determined that the relocation of approximately 570 linear feet of stream channel would be considered self-mitigating since natural channel design techniques were planned and monitoring for three years was proposed. Vegetative and stream geomorphic surveys were completed each year to assure that the project was in compliance with the issued permits. During the final reporting site visit, it was determined that additional measures were required prior to termination of the permit. Therefore, Timmons Group’s Team of Environmental Scientists and Engineers prepared a Corrective Action Plan to satisfy the Agency’s concerns and then implemented by TGCM
