Overview
Timmons Group is providing professional services for Excell Communications’ fiber Outside Plant (OSP) project in multiple wire center locations in North Carolina. The project involves a variety of team-led services, including:
- Fielding — Conducting thorough field assessments and engineering analysis to ensure compliance with regulations and standards, including collecting pole data for birthmark, GPS location, pole number, and measurements of all attachments and mid-spans
- Permitting — Designing for fiber optic communications utility encroachment using design software, as well as conducting due diligence for desktop design, including searching digital databases for existing adjacent landowner information
- Make Ready Determination — Preparing data and make-ready design for pole attachment required to permit with existing pole owners, as well as performing necessary field inspections to support the permitting process and design for make-ready work
- Aerial Installation — Designing for utility make-ready work in locations requiring aerial fiber optic cable installation and conducting on-site inspections of each pole to gather essential data and determine necessary make-ready work
