Overview

Timmons Group provided civil engineering and aerial topography services to support a utility-scale solar project of 117 megawatts on 491 acres in south central Puerto Rico. The project consists of 147,000 panels oriented using the Game Change Fixed Tilt Tent System. The aerial surveying and mapping scope included collecting LiDAR topographic data for the entire project site and transmission line right-of-way using in-house drone services and processing. The civil engineering scope included a pre-development inundation study, grading, and storm water control design. The site had numerous locations with steep topography and little vegetation which required special consideration for construction storm water erosion measures.
