Overview

Through its on-call contract with Chesterfield County, Timmons Group began developing infrastructure plans for Meadowville in 1996 when the County proactively rezoned 1,300 acres to create one of Virginia’s first economic development mega-sites. Preliminary plans for an interchange at I-295 were prepared and all environmental documents and permits were secured. During site development, Timmons Group secured a VEDP Brownfield Grant to provide funding for cultural assessment and artifact recovery from a 17th Century Huguenot farmstead that was unearthed in a roadway alignment. Timmons Group administered the grant and the schedule through project implementation which resulted in site commemoration per VDHR requirements.
