Two apartment developments on opposite sides of the river will remain active and on schedule despite their general contractor’s recent bankruptcy filing, the developer behind those projects said this week.

The City Council on Tuesday approved moving forward with work on the downtown, city-owned building, which is nearly a century old. It's home to Arkansas Public Theatre, a community-based nonprofit group that provides live theater experiences, according to the organization's website.

The James River Association (JRA) is excited to announce the Culpeper Avenue Storm Sewer Extension project in the Lakemont Community of the City of Petersburg, Virginia. It includes excavation and the installation of 175 feet of 42” Class IV reinforced concrete pipe and 50 feet of 18” Class III reinforced concrete pipe on Brunswick Street, between Culpeper Avenue and Slagle Avenue.

The Ohio-based national homebuilder will build 138 single-family homes at a new project, called Stallings Brook, near Indian Trail. It will be built on a 77-acre site just off Unionville-Indian Trail Road West.
