The ease of design creation and documentation also is a prevailing reason for the continued use of 2D in civil engineering and site design. “Most of our land-development projects are brownfield projects,” says Timmons’ Gladfelter. “The site planning is based on 2D elements like property lines, rights-of-way, setback lines and so on.
