Overview
Timmons Group is providing services to support a detailed expansion that cover the remainder of the City of Martinsville with its fiber optic cable. The final infrastructure design will meet all requirements set forth by the City and adhere to all rules and regulations provided by the Electric, Traffic Control, and Telecommunications Departments.
High level design of the project includes development of Fiber Serving Areas (FSA) and Fiber Distribution Hubs (FDH), creation of fiber cable, splices, terminals, and drops datasets, and coordination with the City’s Network Engineering Team to integrate network design standards.
The Timmons Group team is managing a variety of design services to support these initiatives, including:
- Field verification and route review activities
- Mid-span pole workflow and evaluation
- Field pole fielding and annotation
- Make-ready determination, pole attachment applications, tracking, and correspondence
- Design for utility make-ready work in locations requiring aerial fiber optic cable installation
- Design of handholes and buried conduits for underground infrastructure where required
