Tracy Butler leads Timmons Group’s Energy Division. With more than 15 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, he has managed the engineering of over 10 gigawatts of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States. Tracy’s background includes leadership roles supporting project development, construction, and operations for developers, independent power producers, and investors. His expertise spans multidisciplinary engineering management, project optimization, and the delivery of complex energy infrastructure at scale.
Prior to joining Timmons Group, Tracy served in senior executive leadership roles at RWE, where he directed large engineering teams and supported a portfolio of renewable assets and development projects across the Americas. He also held multiple leadership positions at Apex Clean Energy, where he helped scale engineering capabilities and supported the growth of a significant renewable energy portfolio. Earlier in his career, Tracy worked in site development engineering and environmental consulting, building a strong technical foundation across civil and environmental disciplines.
