Shared Success: Built for the Long Haul with Christian Brothers Automotive

Since 2016, Timmons Group has delivered civil engineering services for eight Christian Brothers Automotive (CBA) locations across Chesterfield County and Hanover County in Virginia, as well as Brunswick County in North Carolina.

Christian Brothers Automotive was founded in 1982, sparked by a Sunday school conversation that inspired Mark Carr to open a repair facility focused on honesty, integrity, and hospitality. Without a background in auto service, Carr wrote down 25 common frustrations customers expressed and used that list to guide the business operations. In 1996, Christian Brothers Automotive began franchising, and today the company operates more than 325 locations in 31 states. Remarkably, Christian Brothers has never closed a single business location.

While the CBA builds its reputation on trust and guest care, Timmons Group creates a business relationship that helps the automotive service company fuel its expansion. Through a strategic Retail Development Program, our project teams deliver site development services that consistently meet Christian Brothers Automotive’s needs for quality, speed, and scalability. Local knowledge of permitting and utility coordination in Virginia and North Carolina streamlines approvals, reduces delays, and supports smooth rollouts across all eight locations that our teams serve.

Each site follows a reliable development process — from site layout and grading to stormwater and land disturbance design. Civil plans are delivered on time, permitting stays on schedule, and communication remains direct and dependable. This consistency allows Christian Brothers Automotive to maintain its pace of growth while focusing on the guest experience and serving its hundreds of markets with excellence.

The company’s mission, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” extends beyond customer service to community giving, nonprofit support, and clean, welcoming facilities. Timmons Group’s role in delivering quality sites reflects these values, which help drive a shared success.

As Christian Brothers Automotive expands into new markets, Timmons Group remains a trusted partner, committed to helping bring each new location to life.
