Overview

Timmons Group served as the prime consultant for the Act of Nature emergency project in New Hanover County, NC, addressing damage caused by Hurricanes Florence and Michael. Scope of work included clearing and grubbing 7 acres of fallen trees, repairing an eroded stormwater ditch, installing a new double barrel storm sewer culvert with a tail ditch under an existing fence, grading, and adding underdrains to drain stormwater collection points that developed during the storm. The team expedited express CAMA and Nationwide permitting for wetland impacts, obtained floodplain permits for work in a 100-year floodplain, and oversaw the repair and replacement of damaged perimeter security fencing and an electrical hot box. With funding secured shortly before the end of FY19, Timmons Group accelerated design, permitting, and contract execution to meet the funding deadline. Construction is currently underway with a 45-day project timeline.
