Overview
Timmons Group completed a GIS Data Center Site Selection Study across GO Virginia Region 3 and Tobacco Commission Southside regions covering 34 localities in Southern and Southwest Virginia. Timmons Group utilized our proprietary Analytical Data-Driven Site Selection Tool (ADDSS℠). Over 656,000 parcels were analyzed within the study scope, and we identified 65 sites, 200+ acres in size, identified as having the critical characteristics necessary for prospective data center users (abundant power, fiber, and water availability).
As a result of this study, Timmons Group developed excellent working relationships with Appalachian Power’s (AEP) Economic Development and Transmission Engineering Divisions, working closely to identify top sites within their service territory.
