Congratulations to Anna Settlemyer, a project engineer on our Richmond transportation team, who has been named the WTS Central Virginia Chapter Member of the Year!
Anna joined Timmons Group full-time in 2023 after graduating from North Carolina State University. Since then, she has become specialized in roadway corridor modeling using AutoCAD Civil 3D and roundabout design. Her technical expertise also includes hydrology, drainage design, and stormwater management, with a passion for sustainable infrastructure and collaborative project delivery.
Shortly after graduating, Anna became actively involved with WTS Central Virginia. Since late 2023, she has served as the Chapter’s scholarship chair, awarding scholarships to five women pursuing transportation careers ranging from high school to graduate level. In this role, she also built a partnership with the YWCA of Richmond through the Chapter’s Give Thanks event, which included a donation drive and kit-building session to provide essential items to local women and children in need.
This past year, Anna led an overhaul of the Chapter’s scholarship system, providing applicants with clearer timelines and increasing the awarded scholarship amounts to attract and support more students.
“WTS has been an incredible opportunity for professional and personal growth early in my career. It has been a privilege to engage with students in the region and work with WTS Central Virginia to provide scholarship opportunities to the next wave of young women in the transportation industry. Our Chapter is fortunate to have passionate and accomplished leaders dedicated to achieving WTS’s mission, and I am looking forward to continuing to learn from and work alongside them.”
We’re proud to celebrate Anna’s contributions to WTS and the transportation industry. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
