Stream & Wetland Mitigation
Timmons Group’s Mitigation Services team provides consulting, design, construction oversight and monitoring of wetland and stream restoration/mitigation projects for both public and private sector clients, and on both large and small scales.
Timmons Group’s team — which comprises Environmental Scientists, Wildlife Biologists, Biological Systems Engineers, Landscape Architects, Soil and Forestry Consultants, Surveyors and Designers —is constantly refining and advancing our designs and techniques, all of which are grounded in sound, natural channel design principles. Hydrologic and reference site data fuse with client goals to inform the design process, resulting in a system that successfully performs its ecologic and hydrologic functions.
We utilize customized wells, data loggers and gauges to gather site data as early as possible in the project to help direct the design process. Our team assembles its own geomorphic and site survey information with the aid of LiDAR, robotic, RTK and total station survey equipment, as well as GPS-enabled, custom software, so we maximize efficiencies and collect everything under one roof.
Utilizing the latest computer software — AutoCad Civil 3D 2012 — our team creates three-dimensional models of existing and future site conditions, producing multi-faceted sets of design plans for efficient construction.
In addition to as-built services, Timmons Group can play an active role in the construction of stream and wetland projects, starting with bidding assistance, contract negotiation and award. We manage the contractor as a General Contractor would, and provide survey and geotechnical engineering and testing services as needed.
After project completion, we can provide long-term monitoring and maintenance of the site, with a wide variety of services including E&S repairs, structure adjustment, minor grading and invasive species control.
