Overview

In order to serve the growing populations of Chesterfield and surrounding counties, the Bon Secours Richmond Health System built the St. Francis Medical Center in Chesterfield County near Richmond, Virginia. The new hospital was constructed on a 46-acre parcel. The 158-bed acute care hospital is seven stories and has an attached 150,000 SF Medical Office Building. A 50,000 SF Cancer Center, Family Practice, and Child Care Center have also been built within the campus.

St. Francis Medical Center opened in 2005 and is the first new hospital built in Chesterfield County in more than 20 years.  It is located south of the James River near Route 288.

This fast-track project was divided into multiple early-release civil packages for site construction.  Timmons Group’s services included civil engineering and design of erosion control, utilities, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management, and roads. We also provided surveying and construction administration services.
