Overview
The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (NDDEQ) struggled to provide easy access to environmental data collected by its five regulatory program areas (Air Quality Permitting and Compliance, North Dakota Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NDPDES), Solid Waste, Underground Storage Tanks, and Underground Injection Control). The Data Finder tool finds data collected by the NDDEQ on facilities that the NDDEQ regulates.
Timmons Group created an intuitive, public-facing web mapping application, called the NDDEQ Data Finder, that allows users to view detailed facility information and data regulated by the NDDEQ.
The Data Finder solution allows users to spatially drill down on the selected facility to see detailed information specific to the DEQ program area that regulates the facility. This tool streamlined the information request process for NDDEQ and provides greater transparency between the public and NDDEQ.
