Overview

Timmons Group conducts safety inspection for bridges and culverts in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS), including routine (biennial, annual, and biannual) inspections, inspection of fracture critical bridge members, and emergency response inspections to assess damage. These mandatory inspections are critical to ensuring the safety of our nation’s transportation structures.

Our safety inspection services start with National Highway Institute (NHI) certified inspectors. Our team is experienced in providing comprehensive inspections and reports that meet all state and federal requirements, including collecting element-level condition state data and quantities.

Our inspection staff has training and experience in performing non-destructive testing as part of structural inspections, including dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing. We also have experience in performing other more advanced inspection methods, such as ultrasonic measurements and drone inspections.

We can combine biennial safety inspections with more detailed maintenance inspections to develop comprehensive maintenance and rehabilitation plans to protect and prolong the structure’s life.

Timmons Group has been performing bridge inspection services for localities and private landowners across the state of Virginia for clients such as the City of Richmond, City of Roanoke, and City of Covington.
