Overview

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG) wanted to develop a mobile application for the State’s hunters, anglers, and visitors to provide mobile device access to its services and information. ADFG wanted a “one-stop-shop” to provide easy access via mobile devices to hunting and fishing permits, licenses, stamps, tags, maps, and regulations for specific areas.  Additionally, ADFG wanted to allow its registered hunters and anglers to be able to record and report their harvests via their mobile devices.

Timmons Group created intuitive mobile iOS and Android applications for download on the Apple Store and Google Play. These applications allow users to access their hunting and fishing permits, licenses, tags, and stamps while in remote regions of the state without a cellular signal. Additionally, the apps provide maps, species, and regulation information for hunters and anglers. Finally, the apps allow for recording harvests while off-line and reporting harvests.

The mobile apps have greatly streamlined license and regulation information delivery to Alaska’s hunters and anglers. With more than eighty percent of the intended users participating in both hunting and fishing, the applications provide an intuitive way for users to access their license information and relevant regulatory information while also having the capability of recording and reporting their harvest from their mobile devices.
