Overview
Timmons Group was retained by CSC (Maryland Department of Transportation) to review and assess the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team Mapping Application and back-end components. CHART is a joint effort of the Maryland Department of Transportation Authority and the Maryland State Police, in cooperation with other federal, state and local agencies. It is a comprehensive, advanced traffic management system that functions 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from the Statewide Operations Center for the state of Maryland. The main components that make up CHART are a non-map centric application for entering incidents, integration of systems and resources as well as exposure of web services. The components of CHARTMap, the internal Esri JavaScript API and HTML based web mapping application consuming ArcGIS Server services and EORS, the map based system to manage lane closures, are also part of the system review.
