Amelia Wehunt

Amelia Wehunt is the leader of our Urban Planning and Design Practice. She specializes in urban infill and redevelopment projects, neighborhood improvement projects, as well as stormwater management design and compliance. Much of her work, outside of designing and preparing construction plans, involves stakeholder coordination and work sessions, representation at public meetings, and providing construction support services. She is a firm believer that effective communication leads to successful projects.

In 2017 she was honored to be named a “Top Young Professional” by Engineering News Record (ENR). This awards program honors individuals who have built extraordinary industry portfolios in just a few short years. Some of her favorite project types include vertical mixed-use developments, multi-family and affordable housing, office, hospitality, higher-education, and just about any re-development. Amelia enjoys leading our team of multi-disciplinary professionals to bring new and existing opportunities into the urban environment. The Urban Practice allows us to revitalize our surroundings and give new life to underperforming buildings, infrastructure, properties and neighborhoods in our community.

Amelia leads our Commercial Coffee program in Richmond. Commercial Coffee is a monthly networking event for members of the commercial real estate industry that features new projects in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan area. She locates the venues each month, coordinates event sponsorship, coordinates the speakers, and attends the event monthly to cultivate and grow relationships for the firm. She specifically choose venues throughout the City to showcase what is happening with real estate development on a City-wide basis. This has led to multiple Bizsense articles featuring Northside, Manchester, Scotts Addition and other neighborhoods around the City. The monthly networking event maintains attendance of between 75-100 people.

She is an active member of the Richmond chapter of CREW Network. She has served most recently on the CREW Richmond Board of directors as President. In 2015, she was chosen by CREW Richmond as one of their “Top 25 Women to Watch.” The women selected were chosen for their efforts and achievements that are shaping the present and future of commercial real estate in the greater Richmond area. Amelia was honored again by CREW Richmond in 2019 as the Member of the Year.

Amelia and her husband live in the City of Richmond with their two children and chocolate lab mix. They are very involved in their church community and children’s ministry.
