Richmond, VA – April 23, 2021 – Leading civil engineering, technology, and survey firm Timmons Group announced the addition of two new offices today, expanding into Newport News, Virginia and Wilmington, North Carolina. With the addition of these two new offices the firm now has 18 branches across the United States including offices in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Texas, and Arizona.
Timmons Group selected Newport News and Wilmington for its expansions to better serve clients in the respective regions. The new offices will increase the firm’s coastal footprint in Virginia and North Carolina where the company has already put down roots in Hampton Roads and Elizabeth City.
“We are excited to be more available to our client base from this new office,” says Mark Richardson, Timmons Group’s Principal in Charge of the Newport News office. “Timmons Group has a diverse client base in the south side of Hampton Roads, so the next logical step was to expand into Newport News.” The new office, located near Oyster Point, will offer a variety of civil engineering and surveying services to clients. The new office has attracted 6 employees so far and Richardson says he hopes to reach 10 staff members by the end of 2021.
Timmons Group has been involved in numerous notable projects across the coastal Newport News region including Tech Center at Newport News, Discovery STEM Academy, an on-call civil engineering contract at Christopher Newport University, and various consulting services at Jefferson Labs.
The firm is looking forward to gaining traction with new Wilmington clients as well. “The Wilmington community has been very inviting, and we are enthusiastic to begin work in our new neighborhood,” said Keith Roberts. The North Carolina office expansion will offer civil engineering, environmental engineering, and surveying services to clients. With 4 employees already on-board Roberts is looking forward to growing the office to 8 by the end of 2021.
Timmons Group’s portfolio of regional North Carolina work includes projects like the North Carolina National Guard Experience in Wilmington, the Bladen County Detention Center, and Cape Fear Museum Park, which received an outstanding environmental stewardship award from the City of Wilmington.
