Michael L. Claud, PE

Michael Claud specializes in Stormwater Management and is responsible for all aspects of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water quality analysis, drainage system design, stormwater management systems, watershed master planning, dam safety and floodplain studies. Michael’s experience involves managing ongoing professional engineering services contracts for several area localities to assist in designing and implementing various drainage and road improvement projects.

Michael has additional experience in low-impact development and sustainable infrastructure design, watershed modeling, VSMP requirements, stream restoration, wetland mitigation designs, stormwater management systems, dam analysis and design, floodplain studies and watershed master planning. Much of his experience focuses on analysis of existing stormwater systems that require upgrades, dam inspections and analysis to meet state regulation criteria, and floodplain studies to meet FEMA mapping requirements.

Michael lives in Chesterfield County with his wife, Valerie, and their two children, Haydn and Camryn. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf when he can find the time.

  • Music you’re currently listening to? A variety, I like everything from rock, pop, jazz, country to alternative
  • Last meal would be?  Perfectly cooked surf & turf (steak with lobster) and all the trimmings
  • Favorite outdoor activity? Enjoyed coaching my son’s lacrosse team, golfing or  just hanging out with the family.
  • First job?  Worked part-time during High School in a printing company warehouse loading/unloading trucks and stocking packages.
  • Favorite sports team? College – Virginia Tech Hokies! Pro Football – Miami Dolphins
