Brian is the Director of the Landscape Architecture team in North Carolina. Leading a creative and seasoned team of Landscape Architects and designers, Brian has established a collaborative environment focused on creating meaningful places and healthy communities, protecting the integrity of natural systems, and providing unparalleled commitment to clients. Planning and designing in the public realm for over 30 years, Brian advocates for solutions that are science-based, inspired, artful and achieve a sustainable balance.

Brian believes in the value of local knowledge and equitable community engagement.  He successfully navigates and resolves challenging issues while establishing a sense of community ownership.  He is well-versed in sustainable design solutions and creates identity through design, revealing the story of the place.

  • If you were not a landscape architect, what would you be? An environmental science or art teacher or a stone mason.
  • What was your first job? Paper Boy in Ohio. First job after graduating college was being part of the grounds crew at the Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, which was the home of the founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
  • When you’re not working, what are you doing? Drawing or Sketching, Traveling.
