Energy Services

Timmons Group’s long history serving a wide range of energy industry clients —natural gas transmission and distribution companies, independently owned utility companies, electric cooperatives, and renewable energy suppliers and developers — has positioned us at the forefront of national and state energy policy directives, environmental regulations affecting the energy industry, and political and economic issues confronting energy suppliers and developers throughout Virginia.

Our carefully cultivated reputation with Federal, State and Local government and industrial stakeholders, combined with our continued focus on renewable energy portfolio standards and the emergence of new and innovative technologies for renewable energy generation and transmission, uniquely positions Timmons Group to provide value-added services for the energy industry. In addition to traditional energy, Timmons Group is well-versed in alternative energy, commercial and industrial energy efficiency and residential weatherization.

We offer a broad range of interdisciplinary consulting services to Virginia’s energy industry, including surveying, full-service civil engineering, environmental analysis and permitting, local government approval support, geographic information system development, mapping and related support services.

Our specific services include natural gas transmission and distribution infrastructure planning, engineering, development and permitting, corridor surveys and sub-station site plan development. For Dominion Virginia Power, we have provided environmental permitting support for facility expansions, and conducted a multi-state power pole inventory and location as part of developing a geographic information and asset management system. Most recently, we assisted renewable energy suppliers and developers — including both wind and biomass energy — in feasibility analysis, environmental permitting, civil engineering design and construction assistance, environmental document preparation and approval for several facilities located in Virginia.
