United States Postal Service Facility

Project Summary

Timmons Group completed site development due diligence efforts and permit compliance monitoring and reporting for the United States Postal Service with the new USPS Facility located in Henrico County, Virginia.  The USPS facility is located in an emerging industrial park.  Timmons Group completed environmental evaluations of the project area including phased wetland delineations and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) confirmations of the project area.   In addition to extensive wetland investigations, Timmons Group prepared the Joint Permit Application under the State Program General Permit (SPGP) agreement to support wetland impacts required for site infrastructure development, and obtained a Virginia Water Protection Permit from the Department of Environmental Quality, and SPGP authorization from the Corps of Engineers.

Portions of USPS Facility contain headwater wetland seeps associated with larger bottomland hardwood wetlands.  Small Whorled Pogonia (Isotria medeoloides) and Swamp Pink (Helonias bullata) were identified as potential threatened and endangered (T and E) species that may be present onsite.  Timmons Group coordinated surveys for both species and documented that no threatened and endangered species were present, nor was any threatened and endangered species habitat.  This coordination allowed the project to move forward without additional delays due to T and E species
