Overview

Timmons Group provided phased surveying services from August through November 2010 at the 80-acre Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia.

The Garden is planning major enhancements in 2011 to its garden areas to increase display areas, enhance walkways, improve stormwater management and add new lighting, seating and irrigation.

Over the course of nearly four months, our Survey Group performed topographic surveys of the Central Garden, Asian Valley and the West Island Garden areas. In order to protect the heavily landscaped historic areas, produce highly detailed survey plans with plant and tree catalogs, meet tight deadlines and reduce foot traffic, Robotic Total Station (RTS) technology along with electronic distance measuring devices were utilized.
