Overview

High Liner Foods is one of the largest seafood production companies in the world. They had recently exceeded their discharge limits on Fats, Oil and Grease (FOG). Timmons Group was contacted to perform feasibility study to ascertain the conditions of their existing industrial pretreatment system as well as their production floor operation, wastewater collection system, and operations and maintenance of their Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) treatment process. A complete investigation was performed on High Liner’s grease interceptor and collection system as well as their equalization basin and all associated equipment. Additionally, bench scale testing was performed on their wastewater to determine the best available chemicals to use to ensure adequate FOG removal. After all investigations were completed, Timmons Group provided a full professional engineer’s report and developed a Standard Operating Procedure manual for the current system. These documents were used by High Liner Foods to improve overall facility housekeeping and to help guide their capital outlay decisions.
