Joint Use Intelligence Analysis Facility Surveys

Project Summary

In April 2008, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Norfolk District, awarded a military contract to Archer Western Contractors of Chicago, Illinois, to design and construct the Joint-Use Intelligence Analysis Facility (JUIAF) at Rivanna Station, VA. Rivanna Station is located just north of Charlottesville, VA, in Albemarle County, and is a sub-installation of Fort Belvoir, VA.

The JUIAF houses analytical functions of the Defense Intelligence Agency, a Department of Defense combat support agency, and the National Ground Intelligence Center, a component organization of the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command. The JUIAF was constructed on a 46-acre site, acquired by the Army in 2006, on the grounds of Rivanna Station, and comprises approximately 170,000 SF, a designed occupancy of 1,000 people and parking for 625 vehicles.

Timmons Group’s surveying services required security clearance for all field personnel and vehicles and that all field survey work performed utilizing GPS RTK and Robotic Total Station Technology.
