Huguenot Fire Department and Public Safety Building

Project Summary

This new 15,256 square foot fire station and public safety building in Powhatan County, Virginia included five (5) apparatus bays, kitchen and dorm space, as well as a public function/meeting room, and associated training and storage spaces.

Related site improvements also included turn lane improvements to the adjacent roadways , utility relocations and adjustments to both existing utility infrastructure of the surrounding community and improvements that had been designed but not installed, as well as an innovative cartridge-based underground stormwater detention systems to meet the desired pollutant removal requirement for the approximately five acre site.

The new station is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification for new construction. Timmons Group performed civil engineering, surveying, environmental, and geotechnical services for the project.
