600 Canal Place is downtown Richmond’s newest 20-story building and is home to Dominion Energy. Designed to LEED Gold Standards, the tower offers views of the City skyline and the James River and includes ground floor retail and offices for over 1,200 Dominion employees. This one million square foot glass and steel tower was designed with a curve form to mock the shape of a sail. LEED Gold initiatives included a one-acre green rooftop, sustainable materials, high-efficiency lighting, plumbing and HVAC, and smart mechanical systems.
Timmons Group provided geotechnical analysis by collecting soil and groundwater samples to assess subsurface environmental conditions, hazardous materials surveys, cultural resources investigation, Phase I environmental site assessment, design survey, traffic analysis, traffic signal design, site and utility design, laser scanning, construction stakeout, construction administration and as-built surveys for this project.
