Timmons Group serves both public and private sector clients in the areas of transportation planning, traffic engineering and roadway design. Our considerable experience in the design of transportation facilities is enhanced by our commitment to maintaining an intimate knowledge of the communities in which we work. Our projects have ranged from neighborhood sidewalk and bike lane improvements to interstate interchanges, from paving rural county roads to widening major urban arterials.

Route 288 / Route 60 Improvements at Watkins Centre
Location: Chesterfield County, Virginia
Roadway improvements associated with 4 million square feet of office/retail development at the interchange of Route 60 and Route 288.
Woolridge Road Across the Swift Creek Reservior
Location: Chesterfield County, Virginia
This award-winning project involved the relocation and widening of approximately 3,500’ of Route 668 (Woolridge Road) in the western portion of Chesterfield County.
US Route 17 Improvements
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Timmons Group developed plans for improvements to 11.6 miles of U.S. Route 17 resulting in a 4-lane divided highway on a new alignment from the North Carolina State Line to Route 104.
I-295/Meadowville Road Interchange
Location: Chesterfield County, Virginia
Timmons Group worked with VDOT and Chesterfield County to develop design-build plans and bid documents for a new interchange on I-295.
Centerville Road / Route 60 Improvements
Location: James City County, Virginia
This 588-acre site, located south of US Route 60 on Centerville Road, includes a new high school, college campus and shared access for a 3,000-seat stadium.
Monticello Avenue / Ironbound Road Intersection
Location: James City County and Williamsburg, Virginia
Timmons Group designed the project, purchased the right-of-way and handed plans back to VDOT for construction.
I-95 / Russell Road Interchange
Location: Quantico, Virginia
Development of a traffic management plan for improvements to Russell Road at the I-95 interchange (Exit 148) including additional travel lanes, turn lanes, and traffic signals.
Jefferson Davis Corridor Enhancement
Location: Chesterfield County, Virginia
Timmons Group is working with the Chesterfield County Economic Development Department to prepare plans for improving 2.5 miles of U.S. Route 1.
