Stormwater/Dam Safety
Timmons Group’s portfolio features many civil engineering designs related to stormwater management, including dam design, inspection and rehabilitation; stream restoration; and designs to mitigate safety issues and the control of wildlife and invasive vegetation near BMPs. We work with public and private clients to develop stormwater management programs and evaluate stormwater best management practice (BMP) options. Our civil engineers have experience implementing Low Impact Development (LID) measures for public facilities, as well as comprehensive watershed management studies incorporating the most progressive BMP technologies and LID practices available.

Working with the City of Richmond’s Department of Public Utilities (DPU) in their implementation of Green Alley Stormwater Management Projects. -
Hidden Lake Dam Improvements
Location: Stafford County, Virginia
Provided inspection, analysis, geotechnical investigation, environmental permitting, engineering design and construction observation services. -
Azalea Garden & Norcova Avenue Drainage Master Plan
Location: Norfolk, Virginia
Timmons Group provided stormwater inventory, watershed modeling and master planning for the area near Azalea Garden Road and Norcova Avenue across three water sheds and 400 acres. -
Lake Idylwild Dam
Location: Hanover County, Virginia
Timmons Group worked with the owners association to prepare an alternative analysis for reconstruction of the dam. -
Richmond VSMP General Construction Permit
