Principal, Charlottesville Office
With over 28 years of experience, Sam Saunders, Principal of the firm’s Charlottesville office, has gained extensive experience in a broad range of civil engineering design projects, including the design and management of healthcare, urban, commercial, industrial and office site plans, utilities, subdivision, road, earthen dam and stormwater management projects. Saunders has been project manager for numerous civil engineering projects with responsibility for all aspects from conceptual design through final construction and has been project manager representing projects at public hearings and meetings. Most recently Saunders has been involved in high-end healthcare projects such as St. Francis Medical Center and Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center.
Saunders attended Virginia Military Institute in Lexington where he was graduated in 1978 with a BS in Civil Engineering. He also received an ME in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1993. He is also a licensed PE in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Saunders is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and is a LEED® Accredited Professional. |
