Paul Trapp, PE

Paul Trapp is Principal for Infrastructure & Environmental Services at Timmons Group.  He has over 20 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering and roadway design.  He has been the project manager on many projects for state and local governments as well as industrial and other private sector clients.  His areas of expertise include roadway design, alignment studies and traffic impact analyses.

Trapp earned his BS in Civil Engineering in 1983 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.  He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for over five years before relocating to Virginia in 1988.  While working for NYSDOT, he obtained his MBA at the State University of New York at Albany.

Trapp is a charter member of the Old Dominion section of American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) and has been active since its founding in 1990.  He served two terms as President (from 1997 through 1999) and is currently a candidate for ASHE’s National Board of Directors.

Trapp has also been active in the Virginia Section of ITE (VASITE) for over 10 years and served a three-year term on the Engineering Leadership Committee for the Virginia Road and Transportation Builders Association (VRTBA).
