Timmons Group’s Right of Way Obtains Prequalification

Richmond, VA – March 6, 2018 – Timmons Group announced today their new prequalification for right of way acquisition services through the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). VDOT requires that right of way consulting firms be prequalified before providing these services on VDOT-administered construction projects. According to VDOT’s website, less than a dozen firms in Virginia are prequalified for right of way acquisition. With the announcement official this month, Timmons Group can now pursue VDOT right of way contracts and also offer this service to its local government clients.

Timmons Group hired Joe Sckinto and Joanne Daniel in August 2017 to expand their right of way and easement acquisition capabilities. Sckinto and Daniel boast almost 35 years of right of way and real estate experience, including VDOT-funded, locally-administered projects as well as design-build contracts. In addition to right of way services, Timmons Group also expanded its infrastructure team to include bridge and structure design in 2017.

Paul Trapp, Director of Infrastructure Services, who manages a team of over 60 engineering staff across multiple offices in Virginia and North Carolina, said, “The addition of right of way services will allow our staff to better serve our clients across the Commonwealth. With the continued expansion and increased demands for infrastructure, this in-house service will allow us to better serve the needs of our clients.”
