Liz Scheessele Named First Female VLWA President

Richmond, VA – March 12, 2018 – Timmons Group is pleased to announce that Liz Scheessele, PE, CFM, ENV SP, Stormwater Group Leader in Hampton Roads, was named President of the Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association (VLWA). Scheessele has acted as the organization’s Secretary and Nominations Chair for 13 years as well as serving on the Watershed Committee since its inception. She will become the first female president in the organization’s history since being founded in 1985. 

“I’m extremely honored to serve the VLWA in this historic role.” Scheessele stated. “I am looking forward to representing the organization’s many members and promoting the VLWA’s mission of cleaner waterways across the state.”

The VLWA’s main purpose is to use scientific and educational tools to protect and enhance the quality of lakes and watersheds across the state of Virginia. The organization is made up of individuals who are dedicated to the preservation of local water resources. The VLWA offers scholarships and awards that honor individuals and organizations for their water quality efforts.

Scheessele is currently the Group Leader of Stormwater Services in Timmons Group’s Hampton Roads office. She has 15 years of experience in project coordination duties including: project scoping, work planning, staff and project scheduling, and progress reporting. Liz also has strong interests in TMDL development and implementation and has been heavily involved in watershed master planning and implementation.
