Richmond, VA – November 8, 2017 - A groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction for a 12th Publix store to open in the metro Richmond area. Publix staff and community members gathered to celebrate the future 50,759 square foot building to be located at the Brandy Creek Commons Retail center in Mechanicsville.
Known for their cleanliness, fresh-store prepared food, and staff helpfulness, Publix is a Florida-based grocery store chain that has been strategically evolving store concepts north from their roots of Florida and Georgia in 2017. Timmons Group’s private land development team was contracted directly with The Morgan Companies to provide a full array of land development services including site engineering, landscaping and irrigation; pedestrian accessibility plan; and site surveying. The project architecture was performed by Hiscutt & Associates, Inc., and HGR Construction, Inc. will be the general contractor for the project.
The Brandy Creek Commons retail center will also include the following tenants upon construction completion: Virginia ABC store, Petvalu, Hair Cuttery, MOD Pizza, and Five Guys.
