Timmons Group Celebrates Earth Day by Collecting Trash

For the FIFTH year, Timmons Group employees and families celebrated Earth Day by showing their pride for Virginia’s waterways! Through the Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Adopt-a-Stream program, volunteers focused on collecting trash and debris from streams adjacent to the Timmons Group headquarters last Thursday.

Since the first clean up in 2013, volunteers have successfully removed 180 bags of trash, numerous tires, and various pieces of metal along the streams beginning at Chippenham Parkway and eventually entering the James River.

Before our participation in stream adoption in 2013, years of litter accumulation existed from motorists traveling along Chippenham Parkway and Boulders Parkway corridors, including TVs, AC units and tires.
