The Timothy T. Day Overlook at the National Marine Corps Heritage Center greets visitors to the Semper Fidelis Memorial Park Center and provides impressive views of the Museum grounds, the National Museum of the Marine Corps, and the Simper Fidelis Memorial Chapel.

It also serves as a unique venue for promotions, awards, and other special ceremonies.

The space showcases locally quarried stone walls, granite signage, intricate lighting, and native plant materials. Timmons Group provided landscape architecture and planning services, which included conceptualizing the space at the outset. Our landscape architects drew inspiration for this design from the forms generated by the powerful Statue of Iwo Jima and the soldiers who planted the American flag during the taking of Mount Suribachi in World War II.

The primary mission of the Timothy T. Day Foundation is to support the animal rescue community. A bronze statue of a German Shepherd prominently stands over this Overlook and honors all military dogs who have provided loyal service and selfless devotion, often making the ultimate sacrifice.
