Timmons Group provided a variety of services for Old Hundred Elementary School in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The school was completed and opened in Fall 2019.

The 83-acre parcel was developed as part of a redistricting initiative for the County to accommodate the nearly 900 students it currently serves.

Timmons Group worked with RRMM Architects and Chesterfield County Public Schools to provide various site and civil services that included survey, utility design, transportation design, permitting for local streams and wetlands, environmental delineation, and construction administration. The design teams worked collaboratively with the County and future school staff for review.

The site required a private wastewater pump station, Timmons Group worked directly with the County to obtain approval.

The school is located on historic farm property and is within the Upper Swift Creek Reservoir watershed. An existing home and associated structures were left undisturbed during the construction process. The team provided bioretention, dry swales, retention and extended detention basins and wetland impact minimization analysis along with cultural resource mitigation, to ensure long term sustainability of the school’s property, leading to a minimal 25 of 83 acres being developed.
